March 20th is the first official day of spring, which also means that pollen will be arriving soon. Cars all around America will turn greenish-yellow, thanks to the flowers and the bees. But, fortunately, a good car wash can make your car look brand new despite the pollen.
Consider several tips to wash your car properly:
Be Mindful of the Weather
It might be nice to get the hose out and wash your car when it’s hot outside, but it’s not great for your car. When you wash a car when it’s hot, the soap and water residue will dry onto the car before you have time to rinse it off. The team at U Wrench It suggests washing your car early in the day or later in the evening when the sun’s rays are not beating down on your vehicle.
Switch Out Your Water & Soap Regularly
When your bucket of water and soap gets noticeably dirty, it’s a good time to switch it out for a fresh batch. If not, you won’t be able to get a deep clean because you’ll be washing the car with dirty water. Leave the wheels for last, as this can be easily one of the dirtiest parts of the car.
Wash Your Car in Sections
When you wash your car, you don’t want to rinse, wash, and dry it all at one time. Make sure to rinse a small section of your car, wash it, then dry it before moving onto the next section of your vehicle. This ensures that soap won’t dry onto your car and ruin your efforts of making your car sparkle.
The inside of your car matters, too. Make it a habit to vacuum and wipe down your vehicle’s interior to ensure quality. (And, what’s in your trunk matters, too! Do you have these essential car tools stored in your trunk in case of an emergency? If not, we encourage you to stock up!)
